About CMEC Accreditation
CMEC Accreditation
CMEC is a non-governmental organization that provides accreditation services to public and private sector organizations. CMEC provides accreditation for construction materials testing laboratories.
- CMEC is formally recognized by NACLA. Laboratories accredited by CMEC are considered to meet the requirements of FHWA regulations 23 CFR 637.209 (a) (2) (3) (4) which requires laboratories to be accredited by AASHTO Accreditation Program or a comparable laboratory accreditation program approved by FHWA.
- CMEC is approved by number of state DOT’s to accredit construction materials testing laboratories in their state.
- The FAA recognizes laboratories accredited by CMEC

The CMEC Construction Material Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program is based on the requirements of AASHTO R18. CMEC can accredit laboratories to ISO/IEC 17025.
